Some Heart-Warming Notes re Bears and Blankets – a FREE service!
One is from the adult child of an elderly parent and the other is from the Recreation Department at a Long Term Care / Retirement Home facility!
Hi Jan.
I wanted to write a brief note to let you know that my mother passed away last week at the age of 95. Her funeral was today.
The care package you gave was well received by mom. She loved the bear, whom she named Jojo. And the lap blanket.
Now, Jojo and the blanket is with me and will stay as a way to keep my mom close to me.
What you and your volunteers do is important.

Dear Chaplain Steven,
Thank you for your kind gift of a beautiful Teddy Bear. My friend’s name is G. She was so taken with the bear and she wanted you to know how much your thoughtful gesture means to her. (She has always loved stuffed animals).
She just turned 95 in August and her mobility has forced her to stay in a care home. She is having a hard time adjusting to her diminishing independence. The Beauty cheered her up!!

Many of the residents were overjoyed by their beautiful handmade blankets, sweet teddy bears and heartfelt messages. Family members were very grateful and touched. One resident in particular wanted me to express her deep appreciation for your generous gifts. She was deeply moved by your kindness and she loved your handy work. She was so glad I was going to reach out on her behalf to tell you how grateful and appreciative she is.
